I’m running for Huntsville City School Board because, like many parents, I’ve seen both what our schools do well—and where we can do better. My family has been fortunate to have had great experiences in Huntsville City Schools. My daughter is a senior at New Century Technology High School, and my son is a sophomore at Huntsville High. Through them, I’ve seen the opportunities our schools can provide when everything is working the way it should.
However, I’ve also spent years talking with friends, neighbors, and other parents across District 2—and not everyone shares that same experience. Too many families feel like the system hasn’t fully lived up to what they hoped it would be for their children. That matters to me.
District 2 is unique. It’s divided by a mountain, but it’s one community. Families across the district may have different priorities and concerns —whether it’s school growth, academic performance, or student discipline—but they all want the same thing: schools they can trust.
I’m running to help make Huntsville City Schools a place where every student wants to be, where teachers and administrators are supported, and where families feel confident choosing public education.
Education isn’t just part of my life—it’s at the center of it. I’m a history teacher and wrestling coach at the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering. My wife is an elementary school principal. Between the two of us, we see the challenges and opportunities in education every single day—from the classroom to school leadership.
Before that, I spent 21 years serving in the Army, leading teams, solving problems, and being accountable for results. That experience shaped how I approach leadership today: listen carefully, focus on what matters, and follow through. I am not afraid to tackle the tough problems and believe we can achieve excellence.
It is my commitment to the families in District 2, from the first day your child walks into school to the day they cross the stage at graduation, I will be your advocate.
